About the Author and Illustrator
Author
Kirsten Miller is a South African novelist, writer and artist and has published a number of books. Her novel All is Fish (Jacana 2007) was shortlisted for the 2005 EU Literary Awards. Miller was featured in the 2008 Time of the Writer International Writers Festival. She has a BA(Hons.) from the University of Natal.
Her artwork centres on fabric and watercolours drawing inspiration from her surroundings and thoughts and is currently living in Durban.
Illustrator
Shayle Bester is a South African illustrator and artist. She has a Fine Arts Degree from the University of Natal, majoring in Printmaking. She has Illustrated 4 children's books. She was jointly awarded the Exclusive Books IBBY SA Award for The Cool Nbuni(Jacana 2007)
She also works as a mural artist painting children’s rooms and currently lives in Pretoria.
Fairy Letter Printmaker
Sarah Pratt is a practising South African artist who lives in Cape Town. She has a Masters degree in fine art from the University of Cape Town, teaches printmaking and has exhibited worldwide. She has also illustrated a number of childrens’ and educational books. She specializes in etching.
